Eric Martin Castaneda passed away Monday, May 15, 2017. He was 46 years old. Eric was born in Palm Springs, California, on August 24, 1970. He was raised in Ventura where he attended school, grew up surfing, loved to go camping, dirt bike riding, catching snakes and making friends along the way. Eric had such an adventurous side and was always making you laugh. He had a one of a kind personality and a way to make you feel special when he would see you. Eric Martin Castaneda passed away Monday, May 15, 2017. He was 46 years old. Eric was born in Palm Springs, California, on August 24, 1970. He was raised in Ventura where he attended school, grew up surfing, loved to go camping, dirt bike riding, catching snakes and making friends along the way. Eric had such an adventurous side and was always making you laugh. He had a one of a kind personality and a way to make you feel special when he would see you. Eric was a talented artist both in his drawings and his ability to create art out of anything. His most recent hobby was working on model airplanes and race cars.

Eric is survived by his parents, Frank and Diana Castaneda of Ventura; sister and brother-in-law, Wendi Castaneda-Torres and Joe Torres; nephews, Jacob, Joshua and Jack Torres; uncles and aunts, Stanley and Roberta Castaneda, Ray and Martha Castaneda, Norma and Rob Ladwig, Yoli Castaneda and Beverly Conner; as well as numerous cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his uncles, Ruben and Bobby; his aunt Irene (Winnie); and cousins Andy and Brandon.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, in Ventura.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017, 11:00 am, at Santa Clara Cemetery, 2370 North "H" Street, in Oxnard.
